Plum Pudding

In honor of Mary Falcsik and her amazing caregiver, George Falcsik


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup raisins and 1 cup currants, stewed
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup milk, scalded
  • 2 cups flour

Cream the butter and brown sugar together. Add eggs and mix well. Add the raisins and currants.

Mix together flour, nutmeg and soda; add this mixture to the butter-sugar mixture alternately with scalded milk.

Steam for three hours or more.


  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Boil all sauce ingredients together – may add a little more flour if needed to thicken.
